The new Hotel, which is located in the heart of the city of San Sebastian, famous for its gastronomy, the International Film Festival, Jazz Festival and the connection with the sea, has been built at an old office building from 1917.
Lasala Plaza Hotel re-opens to the public after a whole reconstruction of the common areas on the groundfloor and first floor.
It is a new vision for the Hotel, a new atmosphere transmitting calmness, serenity and peacefulness to the guests.
The entire groundfloor is now conceived as a contemporary lounge-bar area that is allowing the guests to celebrate every moment of the day, from morning to evening.
The carefully chosen furniture , all in dark wood and light beige , brings elegance and warmth to the groundfloor allowing the space to be flexible and adaptable to different situations .
This architectural serenity through the choices of the materials is creating a certain neutral background, for those scupltural pieces (thirteen oars, bar, reception, alabaster walls,…) to stand out and give the personality and the identity to the Hotel.
Reducing all the visual noise to the máximum has clearly been one of the main goals of this project.
The thirteen oars are welcoming the guests. This sculpture, is an abstract representation of the oars . It has been built in wood and copper, and the twist symbolizes the movement of the oars and the beautiful reflections in the sea .
A fully refurbished space, with a calming aura, mergin the old spirit of this historical building with a new contemporary architectural language .
The building is beautifully located , one side facing the old town and the other, the harbour . The space is now, through the clean axes, connecting physical and visually both .
We believe that the purpose of architecture is to create the scenario for our lifes, where humans can reach inner peace and human fullfilment.
